Tripping the Finale Fantastic

This picture sat in my "do something with this" folder for about two years ... so here it is with a slapdash background because uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuugh.
At any rate, these are side characters from a long-ago roleplay with ziggythecabbit, set in a Final Fantasy-style game whose source code was actively being corrupted by outside forces. These four were the original protagonists of the game, now reduced to mere decoys while a handful of background NPCs from the opening quest are now burdened with saving the world from the mysterious hacker. In order from left to right, they are . . .
Raine Bluster: This spiky-haired young fellow was raised to follow in his father's footsteps as part of a paramilitary sports team, but was rejected due to his love for asymmetrical pants. The trauma inflicted upon him left him believing that he really was once a member of the elite W.A.R.Ri.O.R. squad, and his moods swing between oblivious cheer, sullen apathy, and random Heroic BSODs. His Double-Triggered Shotsword can incur extra damage if you press a button (determined at random) during a quick-time event in combat.
Turquoise per Terwilliger XLVI (Waive): A kind-hearted princess who is the last of her hybrid species that was created through a political marriage that was supposed to show that love can overcome petty little things like racism or crippling genetic disorders. At one time she was brainwashed into an ultimate killing machine, but she fled the royal palace during a theater festival and was trained in the healing arts at a secluded little temple on a tropical island. She is self-sacrificial to a fault and, in fact, dies at least once per major story arc.
Kuukkii Annoiingu: Waive's third cousin, once removed, and probably also the last of her kind, Kuukkii comes from the distant kingdom of Suteriotaipu and is trained in their highly visible ninja ways. She is determined to keep everyone cheerful and light-hearted on their quest, no matter how dire the circumstances and no matter how many times she has to mug for the camera and call her companions a bunch of boring old fuddy-duddies. Sometimes she relies on her adorable pet, Shiriizu Masukotto, for moral support. She also loves riding on airships and positively will not shut up about it.
Malaria: A dour woman with the gift of dark magic and a penchant for dressing up in gothic Lolita clothing and playing with plush toys. The oldest of the group at age 20, she serves as a mentor figure and can be counted on to know the history of various landmarks the party encounters and give them guidance in the form of cryptic clues that are only obvious on a second playthrough. Despite showing no interest in Raine and in fact frequently expressing frustration with his existence, she is frequently shipped with him in fan fiction.

The fate of the world is in their slender and jewelry-bedecked hands. I'd start packing to leave if I were you.
