Secondary Love by LunaticMoth

I never met you before

I never heard your voice

I never asked your favorite color

I don’t now what your life was like

If you got along with your mother

Maybe you had a girlfriend or two

I only knew you for a second

But I will never, ever forget you

I know you had blue eyes

I know you had green hair

All spiked up like a punk

Like they did in the 90s

You wore a black leather jacket

And a white t-shirt with a Harley-riding Iguana

Pants all worn out

Sneakers all banged up

The city crowd was thick

I was lucky to pick you out

Luck had nothing to do with you

‘Cause they picked you out, too

You were hard to miss

You didn’t see the car

You didn’t see the gun

All you saw was me

You stopped just to look at me

And you were still smiling

Smiling when you died

Some people say

There’s no such thing

As love at first sight

But I believe there is

I felt it for a second

In case no one else did until then

I want you to know

For at least one second of your life

Someone really cared

I fell in love

Then watched you go

Carried away

By New Years fireworks.
