Appearance: Chained Fear is a black furred Qwuedeviv with yellow eyes. It has a yellow stripe to the outer sides of its arms and a blue tail.

Personality: Chained Fear is a proud Qwuedeviv—not proud in a bragging sense, just very confident and well, proud. It is strong of mind; this confidence allowed it to accomplish all sorts of things for the Qwuedeviv. Not afraid to admit its mistakes, but willing to learn and better itself, Fear excelled at most everything it did. It can be stubborn at times—but usually only about getting what it needs to carry out its own tasks, not so much at being right all the time.

Background: Fear became an instructor after it was injured in battle and ended up somewhat blind. It has been having a majorly difficult time adjusting to its new lifestyle—for one, the lack of true combat and secondly—the lack of its eye(s) which it had for several years leaves it feeling somewhat helpless. The higher ranking Qwuedeviv officers wanted to station it with the younger classes—classroom classes that was. Fear resented it terribly though—which the officers did not care about and told it to go do so anyway.

It spent about two whole classes there before deciding it wouldn’t put up with it. For starters it was hard to teach a group of kittens who could snicker and make other snarky remarks without being caught while it tried to explain anything—something it was not willing to tolerate. It tried to get a spot with the older kittens but that proved too dangerous since the trigger happy, battle ready kittens were far too wild and stupid for a blind Qwuedeviv to lead.

Fear grew pretty depressed over feeling useless and half contemplated walking off into the uninhabited wilderness until it couldn’t walk any further and just wait to die, but that seemed to be a coward move so instead it relentlessly bothered some of the records keepers and those at the library for a list of other roles a Qwuedeviv might fill. After having bothered everyone beyond what they could stand, it found it could help with the upkeep of a range designed to keep returning invaders sharp and ready for battle.

It still misses being on actual missions quite a bit, but at least is a little more settled with this arrangement than it was before. Fear can be pleasant—moreso to other invaders or former invaders than those who have always lived on Qwuh-9. It likes to reminisce about the sights it once saw—primarily because it is afraid it will forget what the world around it was like. Fear usually has a, ‘I can take on the whole world with my paws tied behind my back’ kind of attitude and a generally gruff way of answering. It takes pride in what it can still do and retains the fierceness and proudness of its heritage that once made it a great soldier. It –hates- it if anyone tries to pity it as it does not need such things. It misses those it worked alongside and really feels left out of a lot of life.

Random Facts:

Chained Fear wears a rather traditional style eye patch for relatively unapparent reasons.

Chained fear is not fully blind—its other eye just doesn’t work well enough to be considered functional.

Chained Fear has made it known that if it is better fit to be a test subject for their medical and scientific endeavors it would be more than happy to.

Chained Fear is also currently awaiting an opening in the schedule for some potential fixes for its eye issues.
