Commander Dr. Leech

LTSmiley

Invader Name: Dr. Leech

Official Name: Fallapadax

Height: 5’6’’

Technical Gender: Male

Age: 38

Nickname: Dr. Leech/Leech

Species: Common, environmental morphed towards Aquatic

Rank: Supreme Major General of the Qwuedeviv

Appearance: Dr. Leech’s primary colors are two shades of brown—an almost light-gray muddy color for its belly and lower legs, swooping up around the back as well as a little over half of the lower portion of its face in an upward curve. The other brown, a slightly more yellow tinged tan—covers the remainder of its head, body, arms, back and tail. It has a chaotic ruffle of fluff and sensors atop its head. Its markings are fairly simple, consisting of one large glowing ring on the back of its ears. And several smaller oval shaped glowing markings down its back, narrowing at its tail. Its tail has a thin, semitransparent fin and a couple glowing ovals as well.

Dr. Leech’s outfit is structured like a standard officer uniform however it is primarily white, with green-blue markings over the shoulders and the base of the cuffs. It wears black gloves and boots and gray pants. It also wears a pair of goggles that have swirly eyed markings on the front and a hat/helmet that flops over its head with straps on the sides. Dr. Leech is the only Qwuedeviv with this special attire which readily indicates its rank.

Personality: Dr. Leech is eccentric to say the least and a ridiculously intelligent genius, even if no one else understands its logic. It could easily compete with some of the best Qwuedezoa, although this has never been a particular interest of its. Unfortunately, Dr. Leech has a total lack of understanding of the importance of paperwork. Why fill out forms that administration just gets upset over for being unethical and the likes? It’s much easier and time efficient to shrug and grin.

Dr. Leech is incredibly fascinated with its line of work—so much that it is quite socially awkward. It rarely remembers faces of those it has spoken to, even the ones it’s related to like Smiley. If someone shows interest in what it is doing it may share insight into what it’s doing, although more often than not they still end up ignored as it is totally absorbed in work.

Background:
Dr. Leech is the Supreme Major General of the Qwuedeviv and leading scientist of their species. It is also considered to be a medical professional and is the ultimate authority over the medical division--even above the head medical officer. Its official job description is to evaluate and report back in regards to the psychological health of troops. It is supposed to give its opinion on how the potential presented battle plans and tactics will likely affect the group psychologically. The goal is to protect from pushing Qwuedeviv too far into snapping or simply being ineffective, unfortunately, Dr. Leech tends to be more preoccupied with science experiments than dealing with Qwuedeviv that are so far away and can’t even be tested for interesting findings.

It prefers to deal with patients that are physically there. Thus its general lack of enthusiasm for its job. It will often just nod and say everything will be fine if it is dragged into a meeting in the middle of its work. If the meetings happen to be at a good time for it however, it will generally give a proper assessment.

Its other job, the one it seems to enjoy more, is mostly scientific experimentation. The objective is to learn more about the mysteries of their species—the ones only the Jala Tuur’ga know fully—and perhaps not even them. Additionally it tries to solve problems as it can and develop helpful variables to boost overall battle performance, endurance, etc.

It is also quite capable of handling hard to manage cases for some of the injured generals and occasionally meets with Kriehexx, who, for the record, is absolutely embarrassed by its apprentice. Fortunately for poor Kriehexx, Dr. Leech doesn’t have a clue what Kriehexx is so upset about, but it doesn’t stop the head medical officer from worrying excessively.

Dr. Leech is responsible for creating Copycat—a process of which it totally does not recall how it accomplished. It has no real emotional attachment to the little creature, nor interest in raising it for any purpose, thus it sent it off with Crew 38 to see if it were capable of making itself useful. It is also one of Smiley’s parental units, but likewise it shows very little interest in doing anything with Smiley and tries to preoccupy it through whatever means it can if the little cat does come around and want to visit.

Unlike the other officers, Dr. Leech actually started its life out on Qwuedanjj, thus it has personal experience the others lack. It knows the ways of the Jala Tuur’ga better, and the species which the Qwuedeviv originated from. It has studied with quite a few different Qwuedezoa in the past—it is rumored that the Qwuedeviv is still in contact with some of them, but if it is, it keeps such communication quiet.

Dr. Leech does occasionally visit Qwuedanjj, always refusing to give a thorough reason as to why. Although it is a complete secret to any of the other Qwuedeviv, its main reason for returning is to see a certain Jala Tuur’ga. In fact, the one that raised it as a small kitten. Unlike a lot of the other Qwuedeviv, it actually wishes their two species could come to an understanding rather than war over things that were in the past. It understands the thought process of these fellow scientists and still holds a certain fondness of them.

Although none of the other Qwuedeviv know it, Dr. Leech was raised alongside a little Qwuedezoa that had been injured by a Qwueshaaldiv after venturing too close to the surface. Having been abandoned by the other Qwuedezoa, the Jala Tuur’ga took in the injured creature and nursed it back to health. The little Qwuedezoa opted to stay and grew up with the strange little Qwuedeviv kitten that the Jala Tuur’ga already had—Dr. Leech.

The two frolicked between the two cultures—Qwuedezoa and the Jala Tuur’ga—learning the ways of science from both. Dr. Leech was later ‘rescued’ by the Qwuedeviv in one of their raids. Although confused about everything that was going on, it was quickly recognized as being exceptionally intelligent about a lot of subjects and was put under the guidance of the most scientifically gifted ‘deviv of the time.

Dr. Leech both learned and shared insight to what it knew—some if anyway—and was quite fascinated by learning the ways of the Qwuh-9 Qwuedeviv. After being caught up in learning for so long, it ended up just staying there, feeling it should have a connection to its species and also for fear it would let its new friends down since their hopes were so high for it.

It eventually surpassed any of the other Qwuedeviv and soared through their ranks until it finally reached its current position. Although the Qwuedeviv were skeptical to let a Qwuedeviv be in leadership that wasn’t Qwuh-9 born they went ahead with it anyway. With so many eyes constantly watching and judging its every move, trying to decide if it would be loyal, it eventually had to distance itself mentally from the others in order to do the job they were asking of it. Thus it became the Dr. Leech everyone knows now.
