A gifted student of the arcane arts, Samuel entered the Arcana Academy in Imperial City in Zhonggou at a young age. He dropped out before finishing, finding the classes boring and the professors too stuck in their old ways. Preferring to wander the world and see it for himself as he trained in magic, Samuel fell in with bad crowds and eventually earned a reputation as little more than a vagabond conjurer of cheap tricks.

One day, as the now adult coyote was conning locals in Jade Mountain, he came upon the Lady Ahna Azurehorn and was immediately smitten by her. In his attempts to woo her, he cleaned up his dress and appearance and eventually he and the Princess of Jade Mountain became intimate, much to the chagrin of her father.

Now, Samuel travels the world with nobler goals, ready to help people in need, although he won't be opposed to pulling a fast one from time to time on unsuspecting passersby.
