Scratch in Shadows

Who would have thought this would be the first image I upload to Weasyl?

This is Scratch, a sort of evil alter ego I created for a series of short vignette stories based on the Alan Wake universe. Scratch's appearance is a reflection of her own vanity. She has that body and look because she wants to look beautiful, using it for manipulation is just a side effect as we all know that desperate people will sex up anything if it offers. Heck, it's a proven fact that 'imperfect' women often get more action because they're less intimidating.

This was probably subconsciously inspired by Patrick Nagel, although he preferred his flat colors and simple linework. I just wanted lots of black space because even though Scratch can function in the light, she'd a creature of darkness and is most comfortable there. Plus it's fun playing with implied lines. I drew her arms and legs, you just can't see them, but you also know they're there.

Copic marker and colored pencil. There is also just a teencey daub of glitterpen on her lips. Thank you guys for indulging me with these. I haven't been able to draw a big original for myself in awhile and these were very liberating and relaxing for me.
