When Uyraies was still an adolescent, she ended up being suddenly alone. It was a time where she really didn't want to be alone, and felt horribly lost and abandoned. She didn't have much semblance of control over herself and frequently had issues with turning into a monster and wrecking the shit out of things.

She was harassing this village out in the mountains, and had ended up killing one guy's dog and a local kid during one of her fits. Some of the townsfolk had enough of it and went to kill the monster terrorizing their village. Long story short, she woke up 2 weeks later staring at her own half-decayed head.

...Experiencing something like that and being able to wake up from it -with a new fucking head- is a really good indicator of just how not-human you are, and what kind of effect you have on people when you're not keeping tabs on yourself.
