Hyena/Dog/Dragon things

Smoke Dogs get the name from the vents around their necks that have plumes of smoke. They are a very social creature and tend to be in large family packs. The packs run like a Matriarchy where the female rules. Females are LARGER than males and will bully them into submission. The females hunt and bring home prey since they are the larger and stronger of the species. Hunting parties are usually 4-6 members.
The Queen female will groom the males and search for a strong male to carry on her bloodline. He is the only one that is allowed to breed come season and the Queen will breed as will other females. Every birth season when pups are born they have one year to prove their worth to the pack The Queen will only accept strong males and females. During the year both sexes may challenge the Queen and male breeder for dominance. Losers and weaklings are chased from the pack to survive on their own or make another pack.
They are like Hyenas with vocals and feeding habits sometimes they will hunt other times they scavenge.
They are also active during day and night hours.
