Nyanshrooms are a hybrid species that, for reasons still being worked on, grow fungi where a tail would normally be.

They are the size of that particular mushroom that grow on them. I.E. a Nyanshroom growing the fungi Veiled Lady will grow to the average size of this particular mushroom.

They cannot breed with a fungi not of their species, as this dangerously cripples the offspring.

The fungi seems to be harmless to the body, and in fact helps with fur growth and immunity.

Nyanshrooms can adapt to lots of climates, though depending on the fungi that grow on them, prefer to be in the specific area that mushroom thrives in.

They love attention and shady areas. They do well with moisture and low heat.

The feline aspect is highly varied, and so far any breed may show up, regardless of parent's breed. This said, the normal biology of offspring still happens.

If the fungi withers, it will not effect the feline's system in any way. The dried stalk will fall off and the feline may be seen eating the piece or nibble off the debre at the "tail" base.

A very faint scar usually shows up after a week.

It is extremely rare, but in some cases, instead of ears, one mushroom will grow on each side, this fungi being the same specimen as the "tail". Whether this effects the hearing has yet to be known.
