Shades of Dismay by Lapseph

Shades of Dismay

Lapseph

Quick visual icons I put together for my pathfinder campaign's final act.

Left - Lord Dismay, the final boss, an alternate future version of the Dismay character who succeeded in obtaining extraordinary levels of power and conquered the world with his mind controlling abilities. Corrupted by his own negative emotions, he grew slothful and the world fell into disrepair under his watch. The color motif of his outfit was borrowing from the color scheme of creatures he absorbed to obtain his power... so I feel like it's a bit of a mess in some respects. His eyes and the gemstone were recolored red to reflect the corruption of his soul.

Right - Marcus Woolfe, a tragic copy of Dismay which fled service for fear of being consumed alongside the rest of his brethren after Dismay gained absolute power. Having torn out the power battery in his chest, he lost his powers and his body has been slowly degenerating ever since, kept alive only by feeding off scraps and pure willpower to survive. He eventually joined the Rebellion against his 'true self' and would serve as a temporary ally to the party, until he loses control of himself in the final battle and kills himself in regret for his actions. His color scheme is meant to reflect the fact his body is dying by fading all of his fur colors away; while his outfit is meant to cover the oddities of his body while otherwise presenting the tone of a rebel scout.
