Lovers Quarrel? by LadyRegret

Lovers Quarrel?

LadyRegret

Any time Jeven received a challenge from Silmaria's arena he knew he was in trouble...particularly when that challenge was signed by the King herself. Some couples settled their arguments through words...but such was not the way with Elsa. She certainly knew her strengths...or, as he was always fast to be reminded, his weaknesses. As he stood with the warrior woman's dagger at his throat and sword twisted to one side he knew once again that he was not going to win this particular quarrel of theirs.

Her blade pricked at his neck and he let out a gasping chuckle, "I yield."

He felt her breath against his ear, "Say it like you mean it." she said teasingly.

He hesitated and found his sword twisted down and to the side until he was finally forced to drop it or risk injury, "I yield, I yield, Your Highness!"

Elsa laughed before pulling her dagger away and spinning him around to face her, "...and?"

He sighed and shook his head, "You have it your way...I won't leave for another week...but then you really must let me go. There are other people who need me, selfish one." he said with sarcastic affection.

She snorted and gripped the front of his jerkin, "...then you should probably practice more, O Prince Among Heroes." she said with a smirk before pulling him into a kiss, ignoring the cheering of the crowd.

The paladin briefly wondered if knowingly neglecting such activities with the hopes of losing somehow compromised his Honor...then decided that, at least for now, he simply did not care.

Yay Quest For Glory fanart! :D

Life has been rather hard lately and nothing quite cheers me up nearly as much as revisiting these amazing classic games.

This art+story snippet features my Thief turned Paladin character (yes, you can become a paladin even if you start as a thief lol) Jeven who fell in love with Elsa Von Spielburg...pretty much the first moment he set eyes on her (yes, when she was threatening to gut him while acting as the brigand leader) but obviously wasn't able to act on it until much later. As a paladin he turned down the Silmarian throne, letting it pass to Elsa...but...never quite managed to leave afterwards like a good Paladin should have.

I really wanted to stay true to Elsa's character in this...and as such I drew her with her original bandit design instead of that horrible outfit they gave her in game 5 cause...that was just insulting. I also put her in a pose that is usually reserved for men.
