The planet sits upon the edge of a knife following the desolation of the Blight, a catastrophic disease affecting all living things upon the surface causing the flesh to rot upon the bone. In a desperate attempt to survive, a collection of mutilated survivors known as The Keepers built a domed collection of buildings named simply 'The Complex’. It sits isolated from the world as life dies slowly around it, providing shelter for the uninfected known as the guild-kin. Members representing many breeds work tirelessly to solve this horrible puzzle and develop a cure. But as the guild-kin flourish within their idyllic society, a fringe group of skeptics threatens to destroy everything to prove a point about what ‘freedom’ truly means.

We follow the paths of ten extremely different guild-kin as they swirl around each other like spokes on a mad wheel of fate; their lives intersect one another as they each fight for truth and happiness. But as the battles rage, the mysteries deepen, and the strange truth that connects them to each other becomes a moving target.
