That's actually a really astute observation. lol I actually started writing it in 2009, shortly before the release of my second album, when I was still getting the hang of writing keyboard parts. By the time I finished it, I was writing songs that could stand alone as just keyboard songs without guitars or drums. Hopefully, once I get the lyrics written and the vocals recorded, the repetitive beginning won't be so repetitive anymore. :)
Much thanks for the fave! I really appreciate that you listened to the whole thing. It's usually a fight to get someone to listen to a song longer that five minutes, so when someone actually listens to this whole thing, it means a lot to me. :)

I have a lot of respect for composers that can build a song that goes on for more than 6 minutes. The whole 4 minute standard is something I find especially tragic in good tunes, because they end so quickly.

Yeah, I feel like if something I've written is any shorter than 6 minutes, it really isn't worth my time because there isn't enough room for anything really good, like there's no real depth to the song. The vast majority of the songs I write are 8 minutes and up. :)

Midnight Hyperion
The song starts off really slow and repetitive, but as I listened on, more variations and dynamic drumwork makes itself known. it's almost as if shows your growth as a composer over the course of 2 years.
