Morgan again. She may have died young but she was determined despite being treated as an optional trophy, another step in their ladder to the kingship, by the men in her society. She took fencing, riding, and when no physical activity was allowed (because she could end up reckless out of frustration from being restricted so much) she was an avid consumer of books. But she was also lonely, and bitter. Many people only saw her as a princess, or a delicate doll rather than a pillar of strength and support for her father whom was, at times, incapable of caring for her and her younger sister once their mother died. Desmone had been a loving father before, but with the war and the loss of so much more, it many ways it hit him too hard, and he became a man whom belonged more to the world to protect it from itself than to his own family (the responsibility of a king, lemme tell ya). Many times Morgan and Jean were left to fend for themselves, and Desmone would berate himself for such actions that caused it.

"I’m not a good father," he would say. Morgan would wrinkle her brow and shake her head, saying nothing but holding him as much as she could. She knew her father’s heartaches as keenly as she had felt the shadows of a room that she had so often clung to. She loved her father.
