"Dear Diary,

Sometimes, I don't think we think things through completely. Other times, we get a little distracted when we really need to be concentrating on something else. Occasionally, both coincide in most unpleasant ways.

Today, we were bored, so we went exploring. We usually stay away from humans... they smell, for one, and also they tend to chase us with swords and things. I don't really know why... we never did anything to them. They must be mistaking us for some other kobolds.

Anyway, we saw a human today. He had a cart full of crates. There were... I don't know, maybe 5 crates? And we thought, 'He doesn't need all those crates. How is it fair that he has 5, and we have none?' We decided we'd ask him for some. It's only fair, see? So we stepped out onto the road.

We must've spooked his horse or something, because it took off running, and his whole cart fell over. He toppled out, and when we started rushing over to help him up, he screamed and ran off into the woods. Kind of strange, if you ask me. We assumed he didn't want the crates anymore... after all, he was running away and leaving them behind, and that means they were free for the taking! So we looked inside. They were full of all kinds of fun things! Clothes, food, some games...

We tried on the clothes, but none really fit. The food was good, though. Ree and Dekkhir were having fun with some cards they found, but then we heard some shouting. We looked up just in time to see two rather well-armed humans running over! At first we thought they'd come to congratulate us on our acquisitions, but they had swords out and they didn't look happy. Maybe we should have gone a little further from where we'd... found the cart before looking over our spoils...

We outran them, but we had to leave most of our things behind. It's really quite a shame. Those humans basically robbed us. Not fair at all if you ask me. I did get to keep a neat new shirt, though, and Ree got a snazzy new hat, so it wasn't all for nothing. Maybe we'll have another chance, some day...
