Commission of Ahrashace "Shace" Bladescales, my sky dragon whom I don't feature as much as I probably should.

Personality-wise, his species has this thing where when they sleep, they always lucid dream, and always in this shared instance where they can interact with each other and the world and everything. They've chosen to build the majority of their civilization there, with sky dragons sort of scattered around the waking world wherever, that's not the important thing, the important thing is that they all gather in the dream kingdom. Their culture revolves largely around knowledge, learning, and philosophy. They are extremely formal, to the point where even with non-sky dragon friends/acquaintances in the waking world, Shace will still do everything like instantly stand whenever someone enters the room, greet people with a full head-to-ground bow, and refer to people as "Lord ___ / Lady ___" just out of habit.

He is currently working his way through the system of tutors and apprenticeships and such to become a librarian (which, suffice it to say, means something a little different in sky dragon culture, and is one of the higher and more degree-requiring positions one can attain) and is busy to the point of stress and impaired social life with his studies and scholarly duties. Basically, picture "overworked awkward shut-in grad student only he's a dragon" and you're at least fairly close to having a picture of Shace.

Here, we see him in a rare moment of quiet time. He can't relax normally, by sleeping in on weekends or something like other species do; with the whole dream kingdom thing, falling asleep for him is just how he goes to work/school. Instead, if he wants to clear his mind and decompress, he wakes up, and takes long solo flights over the sea. That gives him some meditative alone time, especially since he's extremely fond of the sea, since it's one of the few types of scenery that is noticeably absent from the more fluffy cloud heaven-looking dream kingdom.

Jaz took this idea and ran with it, and the results are absolutely gorgeous. I love the palette, and how colors of the sea, sky, and character all match each other. I can pretty much count on a Jaz piece having an awesome dynamic pose and adorable expression, and she certainly delivered, here. She did a fantastic job capturing the personality, too; I asked for Shace de-stressing by indulging in his beloved sea flight hobby, and that is definitely what I got.

For those of you who do remember this guy from his other pictures, yes, he normally has that hanging tabard thing and metal axe-looking tail cap. Those are ceremonial, meaning they are the sky dragon equivalent of dressing-up formal wear, meaning he wouldn't be wearing them when the entire point of this piece is that he gets to relax for once.
