Sara's been reconsidering her species recently.  She was born in the body I designed for the character, after all, but is that form what she wants?  After doing some soul-searching, she looked at her shyness and skittishnes, the way we tend to describe trying to court her like trying to befriend a timid stray (approach slowly, speak softly and nonthreateningly, no sudden movements, etc.) and her tendency to purr when pet, and decided to see how being a cat feels.

The thing I love about the fandom is that it provides such an unrivaled sandbox for self-exploration and self-discovery.  I used it for that to great effect when I was first becoming aware that I was transgender.  When you have all those confusing feelings, it's easy to commission yourself as (whatever species/whatever genital configuration/etc.) and try it on, see how it looks, see if it feels right to you.  Now it's Sara's turn.
