"We knew this piece was going to be interesting from the start as it appeals to my aesthetic likes. For it, Dee started focusing on the background to really give it personality apart from the characters. The struggle, however, was that Dee has never touched Vermintide. Partially through completion on the BG, Dee was curious how to flesh things out to avoid a lot of negative space. That's when I remembered a bit of criticism toward a lot of games where the BG isn't very interactive. I like breaking boxes, kicking debris around, hurling parts of the BG at enemies like in Bayonetta. So I thought, add something broken or something to break. The next challenge was that when that was done, the BG looked really 'fresh'-- not very grimdark or worn. We had a eureka moment and began putting etch-marks and chips along the roofing and a little wear and tear on the cobbled pathway. Overall, what seemed the most complicated part of it - the outfits - seemed like a cakewalk after that. Dee captured them flawlessly, don't you agree?"
