So these seem to becoming pretty popular with people, and they're pretty awesome, so I wanted to try my paws at making a 12" chainmaille dragon. Let me just start off by saying this one, being my first one and me being basically clueless on even how to approach starting one of these, took about a full month in total to do.

My friend Layla (you know, she makes them awesome button-eye plushies..) had found a tutorial on.. actually, I have no idea where she found it, but she found it. So I combined that, with a tutorial I found on the M.A.I.L. website, along with another I found over on Deviant Art (was for a dragon bracelet.. sorry I can't remember the name and it's not on the tutorial) with starring at ones done by the talented Seren Fey for hours on end (yes, literally) and this was the end result!

This lil bugger is quite the complex piece, as I found out the hard way. In total, mine at least uses ~ 9 ~ different weave patterns: Euro 4in1, Euro 6in1, Box Chain, Rose (a.k.a. Mobius Ball/Mobius Flower), Half Persian 3in1, Scale Maille, Trizintine, Byzintine and Shaggy Scales. Now that's a maw full! It's scales are blue, while the main body is purple. It's belly scales are lavender while it's eyes are champagne.

This lil one is on it's way to a very special artist, Curio Draco, as payment for an art trade. In return.. well.. you'll get to see it sooner or later~
