Las Cartoonas by KinkyTurtle

Las Cartoonas

Las Meninas by Diego Velázquez, one of the most famous paintings in Spanish history, has here been transformed into Las Cartoonas by KT, a stunning and controversial depiction of KT and his friends in the court of not King Philip IV of Spain.

Las Cartoonas is set in KT's studio in Madrid. On the far wall hang two of KT's previous works, "The Treachery of Cartoon Images" and "Daryl Jones Goes Trick-Or-Treating". In the centre of the foreground stands the Infanta Teleia Fox. She is attended by two ladies-in-waiting, or meninas: Berlinda the Frogbear, who is poised to curtsy to the fox, and Doris Duck, who kneels before Teleia, offering her a drink from a red cup, or búcaro, that she holds on a golden tray. To the right of the Infanta are two four-armed characters: the two-headed Sefo, and the weasel Jasmine Ermine, who playfully tries to rouse her sleepy boyfriend Stanley Stoat with her foot. Shoat Exotee, the lead singer of the band ShoTom, stands behind them, dressed in a backstage robe and talking to his bandmate Tom Woof, who is uncharacteristically dressed.

To the rear and at right stands Creature Glungph, the inventor of the Tumorboard, and in its own words, a "sexless purple thingy". Glungph is shown standing but in pause, with its right knee bent and its feet on different steps; it is ambiguously either coming or going. Daryl Dragon Jones and Rachel Merigeane, respectively the custodian and owner/operator of the Downtown Monster Shop, appear on the far wall in what is either a mirror or a painting. Some scholars[who?] suggest that since the Monster Shop does not occupy the same cartoon world as KT and his friends, this is either a painting, or a reflection of KT's painting, which is most likely the next Monster Shop cartoon.

KT himself is pictured to the left of the scene, looking outward past a large canvas supported by an easel. On his chest is a T-shirt depicting a light saber, most likely Kylo Ren's, although KT never purchased such a shirt. It is believed[by whom?] that George Lucas ordered this to be added to the painting as a "Special Edition".
