So for the same art contest that my Winged Kiaki picture tied for second.... this one won FIRST PLACE! =D

For the contest we had to submit two drawings, one colour, one greyscale, and this was my greyscale submission. I'm so proud that both of my pictures won top places. I decided to go with an ocelot for this submission because spotted or patterned felines are easier for me with traditional realism, and a friend of mine had requested I draw another ocelot one day so I figured this was a good a time as any.

I drew and shaded this with regular printed paper and a 0.5 mechanical pencil. Why are those plastic-feeling cheap items my preferable tools? I have no idea. But I'm used to them now and love working with them. I think if you're going to enter a contest, stick to what your familiar with. Experimenting can come in your personal time, plus those tools are cheap and at my disposal.
