My one goal in art is to create a comic. I continue drawing so I may one day tell my stories visually. But to do that, I need to get better at buildings. Architecture is something that gives me trouble. Yesterday I tried to illustrate a village scene and just... failed epically.
So when JessicaMDouglas issued a challenge to draw something we don't normally draw, I jumped at it and painted this.
I certainly like the result, but I know that it turned out good only because I painted it from one of my own photos. If I tried to paint this straight from my imagination, I wouldn't have been able to pull it off. But I will continue to paint from more of my photos, and hopefully I'll get to the point where I will be able to draw the scenes I see in my head.
Critique welcome.
