When the year 2013 was coming to an end and I looked the drawings I had made during the year, I was... well not disappointed in a sense, but I had the feeling I could've done more. I had had couple of stressful things in my life which drained me to the point of desperation, but when the school started and all, I suddenly had this time and energy. Before that, though, I came up with an idea of a list - and so the "Project Heartstrings" (tai Projekti Sydänjuuret), was born.

The list consists of different OC-pairs or groups that have some sort of a relationship with each other - maybe they are a couple or friends or siblings or enemies etc - and I'm intending to draw all of them. There's 212 different options in that list and let's hope it doesn't get any longer-- :D It could be actually longer but I decided to include as many different characters as possible and keep the list possible to finish so. The meaning this project is mainly just to get myself draw more and also to get to know my (and couple of my friends') characters better.

Not sure how many pictures I'm going to do this year - I had this thought of something 40-50, but I have the last year of school going on so it might take some of my time. Or maybe not. Anyway, if I get over 30 picture benchmark, I'm happy! :D

The first picture is about Eberhardt and Ascaraeus, two older buddies who have known each other since they were small boys. They're the ultimate bros, even though normally Eberhardt isn't this cheerful-- :D Maybe they are going to kick some enemy ass or something later on.

The title comes from the fact that Eberhardt comes from this certain family line that believes in this kind of thing. Every family member have this one and only "Shieldbrother" or "Shieldsister", which is a dear, dear friend and/or mate and a companion in battle. Eberhardt usually follows his friend in every battle and is supporting him in every turn, being ready to even die for Ascaraeus if it comes to that.
