I wanted to see if I could get one of my little videos done in one night. For the extra challenge, I shot it as a shaky handheld video instead of using a tripod and used a character with fur. This Weasyl remix introduces some motion blur and focal blur for extra photorealism, and the Flash version is at least twice the resolution of the version I posted to Twitter/FA. :)
The amazing Judy Hopps model I used in this animation is by splatypi and is free to download and use for Blender on Blendswap: http://www.blendswap.com/blends/view/83856
Made in Blender and Krita all running at once with multiple instances so I can de-shake handheld footage, matte out my jeans leg, animate bunnies, draw effects animation, test composite setups, re-shake the de-shaken footage, render to image sequence AT THE SAME TIME. Really makes things quicker when you don't have to wait!
Holy dang this is really amazing! I especially love the little magical effects, they're very classically cartoony.
Both! The foot was motion-matched to my foot frame by frame (by hand - it's quicker) then composited in over the live-action plate. The hand I just put in there afterwards because it felt right.
No doubt! I'm having to disappoint all of them for the time being for a couple of reasons:

very neat animation, would it bother you if I also said that you have a nice foot?
