Considering what we've learned about Hybrids both in story and in tumblr, this might or might not have been an unwise move by him.
Bonnie is a new quantity in the world of Hybrids and Humans. How she grows up and what she learns from both of them will undoubtedly effect how she relates to the outside world when she grows up.
Her father has to prepare her mentally for the outside world. Her sisters and other hybrids have to make sure she's ready to defend herself from it. It's a delicate balance.
