The mesh eyes and fixed grin are proper creepy! (incidentally, I'm a recent reader and have no idea what's going on. I could go back to the beginning and find out...but this way's kind of fun!)

Hah! That's actually how I felt about fursuits about... some ten years ago. Until I finally came 'round to them and warmed up to their charms. ;) But then again they're looking better and better with every succeeding year, so it might be that.
(And that's no problem at all. :) I'm always explaining everything that is needed to know when certain characters reappear, etc.)

It's how I felt about mascots before I discovered furry. As a kid, I felt that a) I know that's not really Mickey Mouse, it's someone in a costume, and b) it's not necessarily someone I want to hug!
