Surrealman in "Lost In The City" by Kaoru

Surrealman in "Lost In The City"

Poor Surrealman. No one understands him. :(

I did this with a thick volume of Robert Crumb comics next to my sketchbook, as I was deliberately going for his style. ;) Not that I managed to actually copy it, but at least I came close as I could. g

While we're at it... I personally feel that some of his comics should be more of THING in the furry community. :D And I'm not only talking about Fritz The Cat, he has several other awesome anthropomorphic characters as well! Don't neglect, don't neglect! preaches on a soapbox

I swear I've met Surrealman! In fact, I've been on a few vacations where I may have metamorphosed into Surrealman without any awareness of the transformation! The key to understanding him is to identify a few words as the subject, and all other words defined by context and inflection. Then you just assume you know what he's saying.

Also: good job with the Crumb-style! I always liked the kinda rough look to his cartoons, and I agree that people should look into his other creations. Fritz was his most popular, but not his best.

Everybody can or should be Surrealman at least once in our lives! It's a superhero that is sitting inside us all!

And thanks! :) Fritz is really pretty cool though, and has the most (and longest) stories. And a movie. So that's why, I guess.
