Birger Expressions 1 (critique requested)

Kalahan

The first set of some Birger Studies I figured I’d do. =3 I just thought it’d help me to practice some different expressions for Birger, so for this, I went with a sad expression and an angry one. I know it may be silly to have denoted which is which in the drawing, but I regret nothing! X3

I’m especially happy with how I did the expression details on his muzzle! Like with his boo-boo lip and his snarling! Granted, for me it gets kinda so-so with the wrinkling on the front of his nose, but meh, the rest is good enough for me! B3 When I drew his boo-boo lip, I had a little trouble at first…but then I just took selfie of me making the same expression and viola! XD

BTW, yes, a Frost Dragon’s pupil changes in accordance to emotion. When they’re sad, they dilate, causing the iris to become a thin band. But when they’re enraged, the pupil contracts into a thinner, much more stereotypically-draconic dimension.

Also, note his ears, they’re in a different spot in each emotion! In the ‘Pouty’ Face, they’re turned back like below, but the difference is they’re drooping. In ‘Angry/Super-Growly’ Face, they’re straight out and rigid in response to Birger’s agitation.

P.S. My dad commented that the names I wrote for the different expressions sounded like something Sokka (from Avatar: The Last Airbender) would say. He may be right…but then again, that’s probably what Anna and Olaf will end up calling the expressions as well. X3

P.P.S. My mother commented that Birger is saying (pouty face) “Where’s my puppy?” (angry/super-growly face) “YOU TOOK MY PUPPY!!!” XD Warning: My parents are as totally weird and goofy as I am. X3
