In active combat, Niu wears external supplemental armour.

Niu’s armour is built very similarly to that of his siblings, a base layer comprised of materials not unlike his integral armouring makes up the bottom of his protection. Ontop of the base layer Niu has various ballistic plates, all in all the plating is designed to preserve his range of motion and not slow him down. Niu’s forearms and lower legs are not covered by plates, only a thin ballistic fabric so as not to interfere with the assault bits on his forearms or to add extra weight to non essential areas.

Aesthetically, Niu’s armour is made to resemble his body. The robes worn are made of a tougher and heavier ballistic fabric than his day to day clothing, serving for aesthetics and flexible protection for his legs. In combat Niu’s total long range firepower is comparable to most Imperial dreadnought class ships. While Niu lacks the same mass drivers seen on larger Imperial capital ships, his assault bits are capable of discharging cohesive particle beams comprised primarily of anti-protons.

On top of his ranged weaponry, like all Seraphs, Niu has a combat Alcubierre drive. Making use of this combined method of ‘propulsion’ and weapon Niu is a force to be reckoned with in battle. Though Niu’s normal reserved demeanour well hides his nearly unmatched combat potential.
