A noble knight and their kobold companion were on a quest to find the scroll of Azerlah, unfortunately they weren't expecting a guard to be blocking the entrance. though upon look into the cavern it came out of, there didn't seem to be a end to the creature and there's a rather unpleasant smelling warm draft coming from it.

the knight ordered the beast to make way and let them through. they raised their sword and pointed it at the guard, making it clear that they weren't up for any other options then their rather demanding request. however, deep down the knight knew this beast heard this many times and killed anyone who tried to slay them at the spot.

with a unblinking chortle, the beast lowered itself to eye level with the knight and spoke to the both of them in many voices and tongues. "thou shalt not pass until the floor before me is painted crimson red and spoils fed to me until entrance is granted."

the Kobold, though wasn't too smart, had a hunch that it wants them to either murder someone or fight their beloved friend to the death(judging by the bones that's scattered around the floor). shuffling his feet lightly the Kobold looked down and try to think of a plan that will help.

he gulped knowing that this idea might not be the best ones he could have. but regardless he took a step forward and took in a deep breath then exhaled before speaking "Y-you can eat, Kibs. Leave Sir Samsam alone, a-and blood shed makes Kobold's taste bad, bad bad very bad."
