Personality:
Edan is an alpha male who gets a kick out of putting others on edge. His favorite way to do this is with flirting, but he can be incredibly serious when he is required to be. When talking about something he's interested in, Edan can become quite excitable and almost childlike. He tries not to let this side of him to be seen often. If you're doing something he doesn't like or doesn't approve of, Edan is quick to speak up, but doesn't really like the conflict that often follows. He feels entitled to opinion and thinks that most people should think the same way.

Powers:
Though Edan physically resembles an Ifrit, and does have a sort of affinity for fire, it isn't his primary source of energy or power. Edan feeds on narcissism, and for this reason, he absolutely loves traveling to the mortal realm, because every time he goes, it's easy for him to feast. His wings are fire, and hot to touch, but the other fire he is able to summon doesn't not really have any heat to it, and is used more for intimidation and small tricks.
His true abilities lie with his ability to shapeshift (which all anochrons may do), his immunity to fire and a certain amount of physical force. This is paired with greater than average strength, and his flight when in his true form. He is also able to teleport, but cannot make the jumps often (2-3 times a day) and must be to places he can imagine perfectly in his mind, on the plane he is already in. For instance, if in the mortal world, he could only teleport somewhere else in the mortal world. The further the distance of the jump, the more drained of power he becomes. This distance would not be able to exceed approximately half the island, at it's maximum. After a jump this large, he would be weak and unable to do anything but sleep. Taking other people with him as he teleports is also an incredible drain on his power.

Background:
Edan doesn't remember a whole lot of his early life, because it was so long ago, but he had a happy enough childhood. His parents were supportive, and he excelled in most things he tried. He always had an affinity for sports, and was a bit of a clown, using his summoned fire to amuse other children. He lived in a mountain community that surrounded a volcano.
Edan considered joining some sort of military or structured regimented life, but ultimately chose not to. Instead, he settled down with a woman with whom he intended to spend most, if not all, of his life. She was beautiful, and they got to enjoy about 100 years together before tragedy struck. One day, Edan woke to find that his wife was not lying beside him. He searched for her, and it was not until some weeks later that he discovered her body.
It turns out, some humans he had been helping and was thinking of making a pact with, had betrayed him. When he had refused to give in and help them any longer, they'd kidnapped his wife. She proved difficult to hold, and so they disposed of her. Edan, furious with the horrible turn of events, killed the humans that had murdered his wife. To this day, he still feels guilty, knowing that it is likely his fault that his wife is dead and that despite all his best efforts, he will never be able to protect anyone.
By nature, Edan was a people person, but became much more cynical, dangerous and sarcastic after this. He set out to be more of a lone wolf, promising that no matter if he found a permanent host or not, he would never give his heart to anyone ever again. He succeeds at coming off light-hearted, but prefers to avoid getting too connected to people, lest he trust the wrong people once again and leave the people he cares for, unable to protect them.
