After Jay had finished lecturing his daughter on yet another of the duties of Alpha, as she was his only heir to the pack, he concluded with a simple and almost cold sounding, "Do you understand?"

"Yes, Father," Amira replied softly, neither sad nor happy, just emotionless, listening.

Jay's maw opened as he said one last thing-- "Good girl, Amira... Good girl."

This took wayyyy longer than it should have, but I was trying new things out. This is Jay and his daughter, Amira, taking a leisurely stroll while he lectures her.
