Megalancosaurus is a genus of extinct reptile from the Late Triassic period of Northern Italy. They are member of a group of reptiles called drepanosaurids and these are the best known members of this family.
By its appearance, similar to a chamaleon, it is though it was and arboreal critter but with disctintive features: It possesed bird-like skull, limbs with digits that were opposable or not in some specimens, and tail ending with a sort of claw.
It was a predator as it has binocular vision and. when hunting, Megalancosaurus could remain in a tripod stance to wait its prey and grab it with their strong frontal limbs, much like a praying mantis.
