Hupehsuchia were a very bizarre group of aquatic animals. They had plaques running along their backs, stiff torsos that hardly could move, extra digits en their limbs instead of the usual 5, and a pelican or whale-like mouth with a distensible throath. It's possible that were a sister group of Ichthyosaurs.
