Fae Beryl and Lord Lief by JenKiwi

Fae Beryl and Lord Lief

JenKiwi

Lords and Ladies, might we present her most exquisite ladyship, the lovely Fae Beryl!

...and her most eminent fairy cat, Lief.

Her Ladyship presides over summer meadows and daisies, is fluent in sixty honeybee dialects, has gained the favor of the Butterfly Court, and is rather eccentric. Rumor has it she once counted every last freckle on her hide, including the ones behind her ears, but lost count when a sudden breeze blew a hundred thousand dandelion seeds into her fields...and she began gathering them for her nest.

The catling Lief is a mystery to all in the Realms, both for his size and Lepidopteral features. He has claws and feeds upon nectar and pollen clusters. It is not known how he came to be in her Ladyship's care.

Surprise birthday present for a friend. Also, it had been far too long since I'd drawn a faerie, and I needed the wing practice.

Micron inks on sketchbook paper, colored with Prismacolor markers. Shaded with pencils by the talented IndigoAngelCat, because we do, after all, owe the lovely BlueSoulFire a collaborative faerie picture. (This is not that picture. This is....practice for that picture. Yes. That sounds believable....)
