Cisoira Reference Sheet by Ashi

Jehauri

The first (and, it turned out, sadly the only) pic from the amazing Ashi! The amount of work she put in on this was just astounding... it's a wonderful feeling when an artist can take an idea of yours and make it look just like you'd imagined it, but I think Ashi went a step further and actually improved the idea; I really couldn't be happier with how this turned out. I definitely recommend her, especially for character creation and unusual species!

Meet Cisoira (thanks to Mia for the name!), a sweet hermit crab girl. Her "tail" is actually the long, soft, vulnerable part of a hermit crab's body that they use to hold onto their shell, and though she doesn't have to worry about outgrowing her home, she'll often switch to new shells or other, improvised objects just for a change of pace. She can also change the color of her exoskeleton each time she molts- a little like an octopus' ability to camouflage itself at will, but much slower. The colors shown on the sheet are just a few examples of the nigh-infinite shell and exoskeleton combinations possible.

She's also a bit lonely, and has a habit of nabbing people to entertain in her home... of course, since she lives in the shell on her back, this often involves her "guests" being rather uncomfortably squished, wedged between her plump form and the back corner of her shell for several hours as she serves them tea and cookies and talks nonstop. She seems oblivious to any discomfort this may cause them, and most of them don't complain, either because she's so enthusiastic and sweet that they can't bear to hurt her feelings, or because they're afraid to argue with a girl who has huge sharp claws for hands.
