Ishimura by JayRasz

"Ishimura"

There, floating high o'er world's cracked shell,
A slowly dying derelict.
A thousand souls once here did dwell,
Once teeming halls now rusting crypts.
As power fails, its lights grow dim,
Each room to eerie darkness falls.
Blood-curdling sounds and groans so grim
Still travel far from distant halls.
And here and there the air is still,
The smell of death still strong and new.
All on your own, that is, until
You find the ship's decaying crew.
You're trapped inside its cold embrace,
Fore'er alone in this dead space.

Ishimura

Something I wrote many years ago after watching a Let's Play of Dead Space. I've barely played the actual game, and to be honest I'm somewhat disappointed with the final results, but this was a lot of fun. Trivia time: a friend of mine actually played Dead Space based on this poem, and afterwards felt that he preferred my poem to the actual product. XD
