Mouseboy WIP - Markings or not? by JayOtt (critique requested)

Mouseboy WIP - Markings or not? (critique requested)

JayOtt

I've been working on the twinkish mouse-boy some more tonight, but I have a question for you Weasylphiles;

Do we like speckled markings, plain white, or something else?

(I want to keep him natural, so his eye colour would depend on the markings too I guess - a white mouse would have pink eyes, but I suppose brown eyes would fit with the markings)

He needs a name too... suggestions welcome! :D

    Markings! The brown looks nice

      I think the markings make him a bit more interesting to look at, and breaks up the outline.

        I do think it helps break it up a bit, and it gives you more room to play with the eye color (vs pink for albino)
        If you're worried about the color looking like stains on the fur, you could always look into changing it to a different shade?

          I've actually found an online guide to mouse pattern variations! They all have names, so I might try one of those! I didn't even know. :B

    I think the markings look like dirt (or worse) on his fur.

      Y'know, I HAD that thought as well... XD
      It doesn't look so bad closer up, but could look a bit grim from further away.

        If it's not a game asset, maybe a more uniform pattern to the markings would help differentiate "oops i dropped my pudding" from gene expression... you know like how a dalmation's spots or a zebra's stripes usually have a narrow range of widths and distances from each other?

        I dig the model, btw. It's good work.
