He slid into one of the booths and rested his messenger bag on the table that was in front of the booth. He laid his duffel bag in the other booth directly across from him. He reached into his messenger bag and took out Petunia and cuddled her close to his chest. He laid down in the faux leather booth and curled up into a tight ball. He probably looked ridiculous, shivering, cold and alone in the passenger car by himself, but he didn’t care. He was getting as far away from his old run down town and starting a new life for himself, and he was ready. But even though he was ready to start anew, he had never felt so cold, lonely, and abandoned in his entire life. He couldn’t push the thoughts from his mind, so he shut his eyes and let the gentle hum of the train on the tracks lull him to sleep.
