Suddenly Jasper stopped moving. His eyes widened in fear. He felt a strange feeling in his throat, like something was trying to crawl up and out of his mouth. He spluttered and coughed, gagging on the thick black liquid that came spewing from his muzzle. He watched, and slowly, what looked like a tentacle slithered out of his mouth. The black liquid dripped down and stained his fur.
