Holden decided to change the subject. He knew when Jasper was feeling uncomfortable with things. “So are you gonna be okay without her?” The question was burning in his mind. “Yeah I guess so. I mean she was.. pretty abusive anyways. She said she didn’t wanna spend the rest of her life with me, and well, neither do I.” Jasper said with wavering confidence. He still loved her, there was no doubt about it. They had been together for nearly a year and he couldn’t picture himself with anyone else. “Man, you’re gonna be 19. I think you have plenty enough time to find the person you’re gonna spend the rest of your life with.” Holden said, trying to convince him to think differently. Jasper could be incredibly stubborn. “Eh, yeah I guess so…” He looked away, his mind wandering. “You guess so?” Holden said. Sometimes he didn’t understand him.
