I think what Tristan is referring to is the perspective of the drawing. Upon looking at it, it seems the direction the viewer should look is up, but the proportion of the limb skews the view, making the perspective look off, giving the sense that the proportions are skewed in an erroneous manner.
But yes, maned wolves have fabulously odd proportions and are my favorite lanky legged critters :3

Perhaps before putting down your permanent line work, next time you could take a photo of your sketch and play around with it in photoshop or whatever, and tilt and warp the image around with any of the perspective type tools (I don't use photoshop myself (Krita user), so I couldn't tell you what the actual names of the tools are). That way you can see how the shapes change when the view is manipulated, and you can eyeball the new proportions onto your sketch :D
