New species to go into one of my books

Species: Lucid Dream

Description: All LD's have either a feline or a canine body, with a large swooping tail. They have some sort of animal skull as their head. They are the cause of lucid dreaming, therefor take on that name. They dwell in astral planes called the Dreamscape. Dreamscapes resemble galaxies--each galaxy is a lucid dream's territory, or "kingdom" as it is often referred to. Each "star" in the Dreamscape is someone's dream, to which an LD can go to and from as they please. Their tail is a source of their energy, and is often wispy and smokey, with a depiction of their kingdom. The transparent piece on their midsection shows all the 'dream energy' they consume.

Lucid Dreams are somewhat of a legend. They are rarely seen, if ever recognized even within the dream. They are quiet, shadowy beasts, yet often quite territorial. It is considered worrisome if one is to ever see a lucid dream in the waking world. Since they have no place--or any need to be--in the waking realms, their appearance there can be a warning of horrible things to come.

They are extremely intelligent yet also very solitary; they mate for life.
