I started recovering the end papers (the ugly space that attaches to the covers of most books) in my sketchbooks because I found them to be just that, ugly.
I love books that are bound and treated with care and personal touch that comes with pretty end papers.
It spread to some wandering into book binding and custom cover treatments. I do these kinds of things to my personal sketchbooks all the time, so when Tidma asked me to do a custom sketchbook for her I was tickled.
This commission was a true treasure to work on. The person it is for is lovely and the character is the best of spooky cats.
Done with original stencils, acrylic, and Black Ink paper for the end papers
I did not bind this book; It is a Strathmore Mixed Media soft cover sketchbook
