When the Tsukimi islands were first founded, many warrior bands from several planes fought over who would rule this new land, and eventually agreed to a battle to decide who would earn the right to rule. In the end out of the 5 clans, 1 stood victorious, the Yami Clan. Their lord of that clan would become the first Shogun of Tsukimi, with the other 4 clan leaders becoming his vassal lords, each given an island to rule. As time went on, the Shogun felt the need to expand his territory, and set his eyes on the neighboring nation of Taiyang. This would lead to a war between the two eastern states, one that would end in Tsukimi's defeat. Due to the infighting of the various lords and the Shogun's inability to unite them, he was no match against Taiyang's unified front. After the war, the Shogun was forced to step down and his son would sign a peace treaty with their former enemies. Since that time, the Yami Clan Shoguns have honored this treaty, and the Tsukimi Islands have known peace. The current shogun, Shogun Akihiro, has begun to reach out to the western continent to promote peaceful relations and trade, though rumors have spread that some of the vassal lords are talking about seizing power for themselves and bringing Tsukimi back to a position of strength...
