Ink the moogle, working in an old magic relic shop, is sorting through the old inventory, when a staff drops off a shelf.
He picks the weapon up, only to - lo and behold! - be cursed. His belly grows outward, popping off a button or two in the process.
The elderly owner sees the bloating and panics, and tasks Ink to travel to find the creator of the staff to break the spell.

The journey takes 7 nights and 7 days.
By the eve of the first, his midsection has popped through all of his shirts and cloaks, leaving his misbalancing fat gut exposed.
The second eve, his behind has grown and caught up, forcing him to find a new wardrobe altogether.
The third eve sees him fatten to immobility, destroying his new wardrobe and forcing him to rest for the night,
but the fourth sees his body grow taller and stronger to accommodate his newfound girth.
The fifth sees him outgrow the seeq.
The sixth sees him outgrow the bangaa.
And the seventh sees him outgrow the Behemoth.

Finally reaching the woods that the staff's creator calls home, Ink reaches a giant mound and a giant hole in the ground.
Calling for its owner, Ink sees its resident emerge, and finds a moogle much larger than himself.
The monstrous moogle looks over the staff, before appogizing. He states the staff's power had grown weak over the years and Ink should have reached even greater size by now.
He happily offers to help Ink by using his mastery over the lost art of "Pink Magick" to help the young moogle reach his maximum size and wait.
Before the less rotund moogle can refuse, he is pulled in by the massive moghemoth and is treated to the first of many feasts the moogle master would provide.
