This is an original character that I created for a story I've had in my head for about 10 years now. It's called "Dark Legend" (of course this is only a working title.) It takes place in a world much similar to medieval Japan with many references to Yokai and Shintoism. I hope to start maybe submitting chapters of it as i get more of the concept refined. Any way this is the main protagonist, Ichiro, and here is a little back story:

Ichrio was born the son of a master swordsman and his wife in a small village. His father was the head of the town Dojo and train Ichrio to carry on the art. Unfortunately, fate would not allow it. When he was 10, disaster struck his village. An army of yokai attacked the village while he was in his training spot in the outside woods. He saw smoke from the village and ran. He was able to cut his was though to his home, only to arrive just as his fater being cut down by a White Nekomata with bright red eyes. He saw that lying next to his father was his mother who had been beheaded. The white cat silently walk past Ichrio to leave, and Ichrio suddenly went into a rage. He grab his father's sword of the ground and charge at his parent's killer, screaming for his blood. In a faslh of blades, Ichiro was on the ground with two slash wounds on his back, while the White cat had been slash over his left eye. Rather than finish Ichrio of, the White cat stood over him and said, "You are the first to land a blade on me, It would be a waste to end your life like this." He place his hand on Ichrio's wound, "Accept this gift and face me again when you've grown stronger." He chanted what sounded like a spell and a sudden surge of energy pulse through out Ichrio's body. His wound healed (Not enough to prevent a scar) and his tall split. After this, Ichiro, still weak and unable to move, watch helplessly as the White cat walks away, leaving Ichrio's home in flames, adding to the inferno that was once his village.


8 years later...


Ichiro is know a trained hunter of yokai and demons, using his own yokai abilities to his advantage. He has earned himself the title "The Black Saint" among fellow hunters, but is considered a traitor to yokai kind. When he starts to hear rumors about a "White Demon" who has been leading yokai raids on villages, Ichrio sets out on a journy to cofront this Demon and avenge his fallen parents and destroy this evil once and for all.


Their struggle will become legend...
