Ah I see.
Well, it's more to give it depth. The back left leg is obviously bent, but if you were to shade in where the join is, it would have a more defined shape.
And the tail looks flat. This piece is great already, don't get me wrong, but it could be amazing with some depth shading. :)

The pose is really cool, but the definition is kinda hard to wrap my head around.
You ever thought about shading? It's a cool piece of art though!
