I smeared a cherry I was eating on some paper I had on my desk then this happened. I'm actually quite shocked with how much I've enjoyed this, I suppose the pure joy in just creating has faded in me a little bit. I wish I had more time to do things like this vs commission work.

I don't normal like cartoony art but something about this is just very appealing! I especially like the ears and the expression on the face. Also commenting on your complaint about not having joy in your work because you have so much commission work and can't do art for arts sake...DO ART for art sake. I have found that I make an agreement with myself, for every 2 or 3 commission pictures I have to do, I get to do one picture just for myself. If you don't do that you will burn out and hate your work. It will also make your commission work better.
