In Finnish mythology there are creatures called “emuu” (translates simply to “a mother”
in English) that are said to be the very first and oldest specimens of their species. It
gives birth to creatures alike itself and therefore all other specimens are practically its
children which the emuu protects and even avenges them if they’re treated poorly
without a sufficient atonement.
Emuus of different fish species were said to have horns on top of their abnormal size.
